Start reading the Corner Office

At the beginning of the year, the New York Times started a new Q&A column by Adam Bryant called Corner Office. It's on the second page of the Business section on Sundays, where it replaced the old "Notes" section, and it's a terrific addition to the paper.
The column provides insight into how many of the top CEOs operate day to day and some of the most important lessons they've learned in their careers.
I most enjoy the sections covering hiring techniques, and some of the sample interview questions. Here's are some snippets...
Shantanu Narayen, Adobe Systems...

  • "Tell me what you think this job is all about."

  • End with, "How can you make a difference?"

David Novak, Yum Brands (KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell)...

  • "How do you stay on top of your game?"

John Chambers, Cisco...

  • "Tell me about your results. I never get hard work confused with success."

  • "Tell me about your failures (and what would you do differently this time?)."

  • "Who are the best people you recruited and developed, and where are they today?"
